Effective Waterborne Pathogen Control

Chris Nancrede, EIT, ASSE 12080, is the founder and president of Legionella Control Systems, Inc., a firm dedicated to the prevention and control of waterborne pathogens including Legionella, nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), and Pseudomonas. With over 15 years of experience in pathogen control, along with a background in industrial water treatment and purification, Chris brings deep expertise in remediation and sustainable, long-term mitigation strategies utilizing both chemical and non-chemical approaches. He is also the patent holder of a high-efficiency water softener designed to minimize Legionella growth.

Legionella Control Systems was established as an independent consulting organization, intentionally operating without proprietary limitations. This independence enables the company to deliver objective, customized solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs, ranging from on-site engineering evaluations and water management programs to testing and control strategies.

Chris has worked with a broad spectrum of organizations, including Fortune 500 companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Chrysler, Ford, PepsiCo, Eli Lilly, and Roche; healthcare systems like VA Hospitals, Northwestern Medicine, and IU Health; and long-term care providers including Little Sisters of the Poor. His experience in waterborne pathogen control has positioned him as a highly regarded authority and sought-after consultant in the field.
